River Sediment Transport Modeling of Ele River using Computational Fluid Dynamics Model of COMSOL Multiphysics Program

Excessive sediment deposition results to hydro-ecological problems particularly for shallow streams that experience significant point-source pollution. In recent times, models have been employed investigate transport in river systems. The aim of this research work is model Ele River using particle tracing methodology. governing equations fluid flow and movement were modelled COMSOL Multiphysics 5.3a. result was validated experimental data the showed good agreement with coefficient determination 0.99. Study at banks posses lower velocities compared sediments midstream. This implies higher due low velocity. These constitute system through degradation water quality blocking irrigation nozzles, impacting efficiency crop production.
